In a couple of weeks time, the first quarter of 2022 will be over.

And even though it hasn’t rained music like it did back in 2020 and 2021, it has been kind of an interesting year, musically.

Mostly, what we’ve got is promises of the interesting things to come and nothing more. But there’s no denying there’s been some impressive stuff going on too. Olamide has dropped, Rema, Adekunle Gold, the list goes on and on. So, perhaps it ain’t all bad.

But the biggest tracks so far have been impressive collaborations, one of which is the remix of Skiibii’s “Baddest Boy” that featured Davido.

At the beginning of the year and for like a month and half, “Baddest Boy” was running the streets. A genuine viral hit, it has numbers to back up its popularity. And, numbers, they say, don’t lie.

Another one that has been hot for a while now is Pheelz’s “Finesse” with BNXN which was released a couple of weeks back. The song is the real definition of “instant hit” because even from when the snippet first surfaced, it’s been hot.

It’s still hot today and it qualifies as one of the top two tracks released in 2022 and it might not even be number two.

Anyway, I’ll leave that judgment up to you. What do you think?
