Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams the Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, has paid his tributes to Mohammed Fawehinmi, the first son of late lawyer and activist, Cheif Gani Fawehinmi.
In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Aderemi, Adams described the death of Mohammed as a shocking incident that has robbed the family of a brave scion of the Fawehinmi dynasty.
He further described Mohammed as “a man of courage like his father, the late Gani Fawehinmi”.
He also praised him for being up and doing as well as his determination during his lifetime “to sustain the legacies of his father.”
He hailed the late lawyer for wearing the big shoes of his father despite his confinement to a wheelchair after an accident in 2003, which affected his spinal cord.
“Mohammed never waivered in sustaining the numerous legacies of the late Gani Fawehinmi, especially, the law firm and its various publications which the erudite lawyer was noted for in his life,” he said.
Before his death on Wednesday, at a Lagos hospital, Mohammed Fawehinmi was the Head, Mohammed Fawehinmi’s Chambers, Director, Nigerian Law Publications Limited, Director, Books Industries Nigeria Limited, and Director, Gani Fawehinmi Library & Gallery Limited.
